Our approach

Our integrated care approach.

At MS Care, we believe every individual is more than a diagnosis, condition or set of limitations. Whether supporting seniors living with dementia, individuals with special needs, or persons navigating mental health and psychosocial challenges, we adopt an integrated care approach grounded in humanistic, person-centred and resource-oriented principles.

Our integrated care approach

Humanistic, person-centred and resource-oriented.

Humanistic & person-centred.

Inspired by the humanistic, person-centred approach of psychologist Carl Rogers, we prioritise authentic relationships, empathy, acceptance and respect for individual autonomy. We see the person beyond the diagnosis — and build genuine therapeutic relationships.

Resource-oriented.

Instead of asking “what is lost?”, we ask “what remains strong?”, “what brings meaning?” and “what can still be nurtured?” By recognising and harnessing each person's existing strengths, individuals often experience greater confidence, participation and joy.

An integrated framework.

We support the body, mind, heart and social self together — through movement, cognitive stimulation, emotional connection and belonging. Well-being is best supported when physical, cognitive, emotional and social domains are addressed together rather than in isolation.

An integrated therapeutic journey

Move → Think → Connect.

Our approach is intentionally sequenced. The body is first activated, the mind stimulated, and emotions nurtured through meaningful social and musical engagement — one whole-person journey rather than separate parts.

  1. Body

    Move

We begin by activating the body — gentle movement, multi-sensory engagement and rhythm that prepares each person for the hour ahead.

  2. Mind

    Think

We stimulate the mind through structured, meaningful cognitive activities across memory, language, attention and problem-solving.

  3. Heart & social self

    Connect

We nurture emotion and belonging through group music therapy — connection, joy and meaningful participation, led by a trained music therapist.

Why music matters

A meaningful therapeutic medium — not simply an activity.

Music plays a unique role within our integrated care philosophy. Research has consistently shown that music-based interventions can support:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Reduced anxiety and agitation
  • Cognitive stimulation and memory recall
  • Communication and self-expression
  • Social connection and participation
  • Improved mood and quality of life

Particularly for persons with dementia, music often remains accessible even when other cognitive functions decline — providing opportunities for connection, reminiscence, identity and joy.

Grounded in research, guided by compassion

To honour the dignity, strengths and humanity of every person we journey with.

Our approach is informed by growing evidence in person-centred dementia care, humanistic psychology, resource-oriented and strengths-based care, music therapy, and cognitive wellness. Yet beyond research and frameworks, our greatest commitment remains simple — because meaningful care begins with meaningful relationships.
